Here’s an introduction to Kiku-Masamune’s “Kiku-masamune Soft Sake Lees Candy (Matcha Flavor).”

“Kiku-masamune Soft Sake Lees Candy (Matcha Flavor)” is a winter-limited amazake candy made with sake lees from Kikumasamune Sake Brewery.

Sake lees are the main ingredient in sake lees amazake; they contain amino acids and vitamins and are gaining attention as a health food.
- Contains sake lees from Kiku-masamune Sake Brewery
- Contains Uji matcha
- Non-alcoholic
- Winter Limited Edition

We use sake lees from the “Kiku-masamune” sake produced by Kiku-masamune Sake Brewery in Kobe.

Matcha is made from Uji tea, one of the three famous teas produced primarily in Uji City, Kyoto.
Kiku-masamune was founded in 1659 and manufactures and sells sake brands such as “Kiku-masamune” and “Hyakumoku,” as well as shochu and liqueurs.

Since these amazake candies contain sake lees mixed with matcha, the packaging is, of course, matcha green.

Since it contains sake lees, the illustration depicts the sake-making process.

The large bag contains individually wrapped amazake candies.
My thoughts on eating amazake candy

When I opened the individual wrapper, I found a single matcha-colored amazake candy inside.

Unlike regular candy, it feels slightly soft to the touch—about as firm as caramel.

When I take a bite, the gentle aroma and flavor of matcha fill my mouth. It’s an amazake candy with a subtle, delicate sweetness from sake lees.

It had a texture similar to caramel, but it softened in my mouth, making it very easy to eat.
