Here’s an introduction to Kayama Brewery’s “Amama.”

“Amama” is an amazake made from rice koji.

It features the natural sweetness of rice and contains absolutely no additives such as preservatives or salt. It is non-alcoholic and contains no sugar.

DOREIKO Co.,ltd. is the first brewery in Mobara City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, to produce doburoku.

When I ordered it online, the amazake arrived in a cardboard box.

The cardboard box design is also specific to amazake, and since it’s made from rice koji, it features a picture of rice ears.

When I opened the cardboard box, I found individually packaged (pouch) amazake inside.

The cardboard box contains six individually wrapped pouches.

The individually wrapped (pouch) packages are single-serving sizes.

The individually wrapped pouches are shaped like grains of rice and feature an illustration of a rice ear.
My thoughts on drinking amazake

I poured the amazake, which I had warmed in a double boiler, into a cup.

The amazake poured into the cup is milky white.

I scooped up some amazake with a spoon.

This amazake contains plenty of whole grains of rice, and all of them are soft.

As soon as I took a sip, I could taste the simple aroma and flavor of rice koji amazake.
